Star-studded return for GIG at NTAs 2021

As television’s biggest night of the year, the National Television Awards (NTAs), returned to the O2 Arena in London on Thursday 9th September, the star-studded ceremony’s guests received fabulous catering and hospital courtesy of event specialist GIG. Alongside a feast of delicious dishes and the obligatory champagne for nominees during the pre and after show parties, the GIG team also ensured that crew and press were well catered for throughout.

Arriving at the venue on Tuesday 7th September, for the event’s two-day build, GIG’s experienced team of chefs, back and front of house staff prepared and served almost 2100 meals for the crew supporting the event.

On the night, a well thought out menu ensured that the 580 guests were treated to canapés and bowl food during the pre-show celebrations, getting the evening off to a great start. This was followed by street food and tempting desserts that hit the right spot at the after party. Dishes served included sauteed chorizo and cauliflower, saffron mayonnaise in tomato shell; crispy skin salmon sweet and sour pepper compote, samphire, and citrus dressing; vegan taco bowl, pineapple salsa and lime avocado and warm liege waffles with full monty chocolate sauce.

GIG also ensured that 60 members of the press had access to wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks, and that the Green Room where hosts and presenters made themselves comfortable were well stocked.

GIG’s CEO, Bonnie May comments: “After the challenges that we’ve all faced in the last 18 months I can’t tell you how much the team enjoyed being back delivering fantastic food and hospitality at an event of this calibre and that sentiment was carried throughout the organising team, crew and guests. Everyone was just so thrilled to be able to come together and enjoy a fabulous evening of celebration. We’ve worked on the NTAs for 19 years and I think this was our best yet!”

Once again, the hugely popular presenting duo Ant and Dec were crowned TV Presenter of the year. This Morning received the award for Daytime Programme; Gogglebox, Factual Entertainment Programme and Strictly Come Dancing for Talent Show. Line of Duty was also a big winner on the night taking home the accolades for Drama and the Special Recognition awards.
