Global Infusion Group appoints Tim Young as Managing Director
Event, catering and brand logistics specialist Global Infusion Group has appointed Tim Young as its new managing director.
Between 08-11 June 2017, the team at GIG delivered a triple crown operation for the much anticipated ‘Roland-Garros in the City’ campaign in Shanghai, which captures the excitement of The French Open, a major tennis tournament held at the Stade Roland-Garros in Paris.
Appointed by leading global media company, Havas, GIG provided VIP catering and hospitality experiences for the opening and closing night, in addition to high-profile sponsor events.
The opening night was held at the top of the Sinar Mas Center, the highest clay court in the world, where guests experienced breath-taking panoramic views of the city from 320m!
100 distinguished guests attended, where talented GIG Chefs provided French and Tennis inspired canapés such as Profiterole with raclette cheese, orange and green tea tartlet, and filet of sole with salmon mousse lollipops, all served by a polished and attentive GIG front of house team.
On the first night, Bartender of the Year Eddy Yang delighted guests with specialised cocktails whilst GIG provided finger food and service.
On the following evening situated in the trendy French concession area of Shanghai, GIG created a bespoke modern take on a classic French dining experience for loyal Partner and Official Timekeeper, Longines. The ‘5 set’ culinary experience included Homemade Lobster bisque with Delamain Cognac, served table side, followed by Tournedos Rossini with truffle and pan seared foie gras, rosemary sautéed potato balls, spinach and pumpkin purees. The final course was a subtle nod to top players Djokovic and Murray. Guests experienced a Scottish cranachan shooter and layered Serbian chocolate cake with hazelnut served on a marzipan court.
Aside from the glam slam food and beverage experience provided by GIG, highlights for guests included a tennis service speed camera, and a hot air balloon experience organised by sponsor, Perrier.
