Festival Republic, which produces both BBC Proms in the Park and BBC Radio 2’s Live in Hyde Park, London, called upon GIGs expertise to provide crew and artist catering at both events.

Kylie Minogue, Boyzone, Lenny Kravtiz, Manic Street Preachers and Rita Ora were just some of the musicians and artists that appeared on stage in the capital, performing a number of hits to a combined audience of more than 90,000.

GIG served more than 3,600 meals to artists and crew at the events. In fact, a total of 2,032 lunches and 1,587 dinners were prepared and enjoyed from 3rd– 10th September.

Crew dined on freshly prepared salad bars, a menu of rice noodle pho soup, grilled beef strips with sautéed peppers and red onion burritos and grilled chicken fettuccine alfredo whilst artists were served spiced cauliflower and squash salad, house made pitta chips with butternut hummus, North African chicken with honey and saffron, grilled bream with mustard and tarragon sauce and halloumi and pesto-roasted aubergine. Those with a sweet tooth also enjoyed tiramisu, rhubarb, marzipan and citrus bites, chocolate and mint caramel cake, warm fruit scones with Pimm’s-soaked fruit and clotted cream and a selection of fresh fruit and berries.

GIG has worked with Festival Republic for the last eight years, providing artist and crew catering services to both BBC Proms in the Park and BBC Radio 2’s Live in Hyde Park. The company enjoys working on both of these events and have done so for many years because it has a great working relationship with Festival Republic. This year’s events were no different – backstage, it created cool catering areas with living bars and rustic vibes that both crew and artists could relax in before taking to the stage and doing their jobs.
