Chef and television presenter, James Martin visits GIG’s HQ ahead of The Game Fair 2019 collaboration

Chef and television presenter James Martin and GIG, the award-winning catering and hospitality specialist, will work together to deliver VIP dining experiences at this year’s Game Fair. The three-day festival of the great British countryside returns to Hatfield House from 26th – 28th July.

Fresh from his most recent series ‘James Martin’s Great British Adventure,’ James will be cooking for Silver, Gold and Platinum package holders exclusively within the prestigious Game Fair Enclosure. GIG’s culinary, operations and front of house teams will work alongside James to ensure the smooth delivery of the hospitality experience.

James visited GIG’s headquarters in Chesham this May for a tasting. All the dishes on the extensive menu were prepped, cooked, plated and finished and then served in a mock-up of the table settings, ensuring that every detail was perfected ahead of the event.

There’s a real focus on the farm to fork provenance of food at The Game Fair and that is clearly visible in the menu that will be delivered by James and GIG. Starters include: gin cured salmon with pickled cucumber, micro greens and a cucumber ketchup; game terrine with burnt apple puree pickles and toast and Laverstoke farm buffalo mozzarella on a bed of heritage tomatoes, with a sea salt, balsamic & olive oil drizzle, whilst main courses include: roasted lamb cutlets with a summer vegetable ratatouille and roasted tomato jus, served with dauphinoise potatoes and homemade pumpkin ravioli with sage butter, tenderstem broccoli, parmesan and almonds.

Bonnie May, GIG’s global operations director said: “Working alongside The Game Fair team and collaborating with a chef of James Martin’s calibre to create and deliver a fantastic VIP dining experience at this year’s event is really exciting. With our outdoor event experience, love of the countryside and passion for great produce, The Game Fair literally ticks every box. It was great to host James in our kitchen and see him in action, the team all now have a really clear brief for what’s expected, and we can’t wait to get onsite!”

Gemma Payne, Head of Marketing at The Game Fair, added “Food is at the heart of what we do at The Game Fair. To us there is no better chef than James Martin to articulate that with his own love and affiliation with the countryside. The new partnership with GIG promises to deliver an unforgettable dining experience for our VIP Enclosure package holders over three-days this July.”
