Breakfast is served for Hotel Bell Tent at Carfest North and South

Team GIG received a call from award winning glamping specialist, Hotel Bell Tent, just 10 days out from Car Fest North 2018. The renowned creator of boutique camps for the UK’s best outdoor events was looking for an experienced caterer to deliver breakfast, complimentary refreshments and a retail offering for additional meals for its guests.

Hotel Bell Tent prides itself on blending the magic and romance of sleeping under canvas with some of the special touches you might find in a boutique hotel. Partnering with GIG to offer guests and festival goers a high-end catering experience was an elegant touch. The restaurant area was created using a stunning Tipi which created the perfect ambience for the festival environment.

Despite the last-minute nature of the booking during peak season, GIG was able to pull together a highly experienced and super friendly team. This included; a hospitality manager, six chefs, six front of house staff members and two kitchen porters who headed to Bolesworth to ensure that they were up and running ahead of guests arriving at the festival.

Full English breakfast was served each day, along with fresh yoghurts, cereals and a toast station, providing the luxury feel that Hotel Bell Tent’s guests are used to. The team also served tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water for the duration of the festival which were all complimentary. As you would expect from any high-end accommodation, the restaurant also served a selection of paid for snacks and meals delivered by the team at GIG. These included; delicious curries with naans, bhajis and poppadum’s, fish, chips and mushy peas, large plates of overflowing freshly made salads, pizzas, homemade burgers, along with freshly baked cookies, red velvet and triple chocolate cakes – all perfect for families to enjoy around the table together with a drink from the bar!

Hailed a huge success, GIG was asked to deliver the same service to Car Fest South 2018 when it returned to Laverstoke Park Farm for the August Bank Holiday weekend. With a higher number of guests the team increased to eight chefs, nine front of house staff members, three kitchen porters and a hospitality manager.

Carfest North and South Stats:

  • Approximately 15,000 hot drinks served over both weekends
  • Full English Breakfast 2610 at Carfest North and 3051 at Car Fest South
  • Retail offering open from 12:00 – 23:30
  • Over 5020 eggs were cracked at Carfest South alone
  • Over 20kg of hot chocolate powder at Carfest South
